Access Endocrinology

Anita Sloan-Garcia MD is a board-certified endocrinologist who specializes in compassionate & comprehensive endocrinology care.

She launched her technology-centered micropractice in 2018.  She does not accept commerical insurance.  Instead she offers an affordable annual plan that includes unlimited visits and 24/7 call coverage.

Dr. Sloan is proud to accept traditional Medicare.  She charges a Medicare practice fee that allows for longer appointment times, more frequent visits and 24/7 call coverage.

About Dr. Sloan...

Dr. Sloan is a graduate of the University of Chicago School of Medicine.  She completed an internship in family medicine at Chicago's Illinois Masonic Hospital before moving to Albuquerque.  At the University of New Mexico, she completed a residency in internal medicine followed by a fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes & metabolism.  She has lived in Albuquerque for 20 years.   During her first decade of practice, Dr. Sloan began to realize that many patients had endured childhood and adult trauma as well as medical trauma.  These harmful experiences layer on top of one another, making it extremely difficult to develop a reliable self-care practice  essential to managing life-long endocrine conditions. Many endocrine problems appear in childhood and young adulthood when people are most vulnerable and often do not have access to the help they need.  Dr. Sloan attended the University of New Mexico's graduate counseling program, where she received education and training in the field of counseling. Dr. Sloan integrates counseling into the practice of medicine.  She encourages patients to assemble creative and comprehensive treatment teams that include therapists, group therapy, self-help support groups, psychologists and psychiatrists as well as primary care providers and medical specialists.  She also supports patients in incorporating non-Western healing methods, exercise, nutrition, meditation, mindfulness, body work, support groups and other wellness practices.
